Hop Aboard for the NJ Oyster Festival, The Spooktacular Dash to Leggett’s, Fall Taste of Highlands Returns for Its 6th Year, Live Music Lowdown

Happy Tuesday, Monmouth County! So I guess some may say that Eatontown is the next Hollywood. If you haven’t heard, Netflix is turning the old Fort Monmouth Army base into a $900M studio…soundstages, backlots, the works. Fingers crossed for a local celeb sighting… or maybe I’ll just sneak in as an extra myself.

Hop Aboard for the NJ Oyster Festival

Oyster lovers, mark your calendar. On Saturday, October 18, the Navesink Maritime Heritage Association (NMHA) is running a bus trip to the New Jersey Oyster Festival—and it’s shaping up to be a seafood lover’s dream.

Your ticket covers round-trip transportation plus festival admission: all-you-can-eat oysters, food trucks, live music, craft beer, wine, and museum entry. Last year’s lineup featured everything from Cape May Salts to Silky Salts, sourced from bays and rivers across the state.

The bus leaves Red Bank’s Grover House (930 West Front Street) at 9:30 AM and rolls back in by 6:45 PM. Tickets are $125 for NMHA members and $145 for non-members, and must be purchased in advance. Click the link below to snag yours!

The Spooktacular Dash to Leggett’s

The 11th annual Spooktacular Fun Run is hitting the streets of Manasquan on October 18th from 11am to 3pm, and this isn’t your ordinary jog. The almost 4-mile course serves up river views along the Inlet, ocean breezes on the boardwalk, a loop by Stockton Lake, and a finishes in true Jersey Shore fashion at Leggett’s Sand Bar with an all-you-can-eat post-race bash.

Not ready to tackle four miles? No problem. A 2-mile walk is also on the agenda for anyone that doesn’t want to run but still wants to have fun.

Best part: 100% of proceeds benefit the Future of Blue Foundation, supporting adults with autism, 21 and older, in accredited programs that provide the resources needed to live meaningful lives.

Registration is $30, but make sure to lock it in early because prices jump on October 4. Which means more cash for post-race beers at Leggett’s!

Fall Taste of Highlands Returns for Its 6th Year

The Highlands Business Partnership is serving up autumn on a plate (and in a glass) at the 6th Annual Fall Taste of Highlands on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 12–5 PM. Think five straight hours of fall-inspired bites, creative cocktails, and 18 local spots ready to show off their seasonal best.

For $45, you’ll get a tasting passport (a.k.a. your ticket to indulgence), unlimited samples, free parking, and a ride on the Seastreak Courtesy Shuttle so you can focus on eating and sipping instead of stressing about parking meters. Check in at Huddy Park, snag your bracelet and map, and start your flavor tour. Hit every stop, get your map stamped, and you might just score tickets to a future event—consider it a reward for being extra dedicated to food.

Rain or shine, this is the fall crawl worth showing up hungry for so grab your tickets below!
