Happy Tuesday, Monmouth County! The new Coffee Corral in Farmingdale caught my attention this week. I’m always down to support a new addition to the neighborhood…especially when supporting means ordering an iced coffee.

On the docket:

  • Catch the Fray at Stone Pony Summer Stage

  • Lobster & All That Jazz @ the Historic Mathis House

  • Make a Splash at the Stockton Lake Paddle Races

  • A Newport-Style Clam Bake by the Water

  • Live Music Lowdown

Catch the Fray at Stone Pony Summer Stage

Your 2000s playlist is getting the live treatment.

The Fray is bringing its Summer of Light Tour to the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on Wednesday, August 19 at 5:30 PM, with Dashboard Confessional joining for a night of nostalgic hits and very familiar lyrics.

Expect plenty of throwback favorites, dramatic sing-alongs, and the kind of music that instantly transports you back to your MySpace era. Add an outdoor summer concert at the Jersey Shore and you have a pretty solid midweek plan.

Grab your friends, brush up on those lyrics, and get ready for a night of nostalgia, live music, and probably at least one person dramatically belting out "How to Save a Life."

Lobster & All That Jazz @ the Historic Mathis House

Lobster, live jazz, and a 250th birthday celebration make for one very good summer night.

Head to the Historic Mathis House in Toms River on August 15 at 7 PM for Lobster & All That Jazz, the annual lobster boil with a patriotic twist. Chef Bill Ball of A Matter of Taste will serve up clams, steamers, shrimp, lobster, and all the fixings, so come hungry.

Start the evening with corn hole and outdoor games before settling in for dinner and live music from Atlantic City’s four-piece jazz band, Recked for Jazz. There will be plenty of dancing, swinging jazz, and classic Jersey Shore summer vibes.

Bring your family and friends, grab a bib, and prepare for a night where the lobster is buttery, the jazz is swinging, and the 250th birthday celebration gets a little more fun.

Make a Splash at the Stockton Lake Paddle Races

Grab a paddle and bring your competitive side to Stockton Lake on Saturday, August 15 for the annual Canoe, Kayak & Paddleboard Races.

This free event is open to everyone, with registration starting at 9 AM and races kicking off at 10 AM. The course is an approximately one-mile loop around the lake, with categories for canoes, single and double kayaks, double kayaks with a child, adult paddleboards, and youth paddleboards ages 10 to 17.

Need a boat? Paddleboards and kayaks will be available from Paddle Out. Carlson’s Corner will also be on site with refreshments, because paddling apparently works up an appetite.

Stick around for the inflatable paddleboard raffle, with tickets available for $5 each, cash only.

A Newport-Style Clam Bake by the Water

Clam bake season has officially arrived in Long Branch.

Long Branch Beach will be serving up a Newport-style clam bake on Saturday, August 29 from 2 to 5 PM, with fresh clams, classic seafood flavors, and plenty of seaside summer vibes.

Spend the afternoon by the water, dig into some seriously fresh seafood, and soak up the beach day energy. Bring your friends, come hungry, and prepare to get a little messy. That is part of the fun.
