Reel It In: Kids Fishing Derby at Garvey’s Pond

Competitive spirit, early morning energy, and a serious shot at catching “the big one” are all on the agenda here. The Kids Fishing Derby is happening on Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Garvey’s Pond on Lakeside Avenue in Navesink, and it is all about one thing. Longest fish wins.

Kids ages 2 to 15 can cast their lines and compete for medals, trophies, and a few well-earned bragging rights, with winners across multiple age groups. There are also raffle prizes mixed in, so even if the fish are not cooperating, luck still might be.

Bring your own gear, a little patience, and maybe a lucky lure. It is a simple, outdoorsy kind of morning that turns into a full-on event once the first big catch hits the shore.

PizzaFest Takes Over Red Bank

Some events are about balance. This one is about eating as much pizza as possible and calling it a plan.

Red Bank PizzaFest is going down on Saturday, April 25 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Downtown Red Bank, turning the entire area into one big, walkable pizza crawl. Local spots will be serving up slices all afternoon, giving you the chance to taste your way through town and quietly rank your favorites.

The setup is simple. Check in, grab your map, and start moving. Each stop brings a new slice, a new style, and probably a new opinion on what actually makes the perfect pizza.

It is the kind of day that requires zero overthinking. Show up hungry, wear something with a little stretch, and lean into a few hours of carbs, walking, and very strong pizza takes.

Tulip Season Has Officially Arrived at Holland Ridge Farms

The U-Pick Tulips: Spring Spectacular at Holland Ridge Farms is open now through April 26, turning Monmouth County into a full-on floral destination. The fields are packed with rows of vibrant tulips, making it very easy to lose track of time and storage space on your phone.

Beyond the flowers, there is a lot more going on. Think horse and carriage rides through the fields, tractor rides, friendly farm animals, and plenty of food options to keep you going. It is not just a quick stop, it is the kind of place you settle into for a few hours without realizing it.

You can wander, pick your own tulips, take advantage of the photo setups, and just lean into a day that feels very much like spring finally arrived. Bring the whole crew because there is something for everyone!

Big Trucks, Big Smiles at Touch-a-Truck

Some events are loud in the best way possible, and this is definitely one of them.

Touch-a-Truck is happening on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Wall Township Community Park & Municipal Complex, and it is basically a full afternoon dedicated to big vehicles and even bigger excitement.

Kids can get up close with everything from fire trucks and police cars to dump trucks and ambulances. They can climb inside, sit behind the wheel, and explore all the buttons and sirens they usually only see from a distance. It is hands-on, a little chaotic, and exactly what you would expect when you put a bunch of kids next to very cool trucks.

There will also be food and a DJ keeping things lively, so it is easy to hang out for a while and make a full day of it. It is free to attend, and all proceeds support a good cause with Make-A-Wish New Jersey.
