On the docket:

  • Pumpkins, Hayrides & Corn Mazes at Twin Pond Farm

  • Halloween Spooktacular Costume Parade Hits Main Street

Pumpkins, Hayrides & Corn Mazes at Twin Pond Farm

There's a new spot to add to your fall bucket list. Twin Pond Farm is hosting its Fall Festival through November 1, with activities happening Fridays through Mondays.

The farm is packed with fall favorites, including a seven-acre corn maze, hayrides, a petting zoo, duck races, pumpkin bowling, pedal car racing and a bounce pad. There's also a hay bale maze, pumpkin cornhole and plenty of other activities to keep the kids entertained while you attempt to navigate your way out of the corn maze.

For a little extra fun, visitors can pick pumpkins and sunflowers, try the pumpkin and apple cannons or enjoy pony rides and the mega slide. These activities have additional fees, but there's plenty included with general admission.

Basically, it's an easy way to spend a fall afternoon, get some fresh air and head home with a pumpkin or two. Just make sure to arrive with enough time to enjoy everything before the farm wraps up for the day.

Halloween Spooktacular Costume Parade Hits Main Street

Halloween costumes are taking over Main Street in Freehold on Sunday, October 25 at 1 PM for the annual Halloween Spooktacular Costume Parade. It's the perfect opportunity to give those costumes a test run before the big night, especially the ones that took weeks to put together.

Dress up and join the parade, enter the costume contest for a chance to win prizes, or grab a spot along Main Street to watch the festivities.

After the parade, stop by the Hall of Records parking lot for complimentary refreshments. Bring the family, enjoy the costumes and prepare to see some pretty impressive creativity from your neighbors.

3BR Has Your Halloween Plans Covered

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and 3BR is making the most of it with its Annual Halloween Party on October 31 from 2 PM to midnight. That's a full ten hours of Halloween festivities, so there's really no excuse not to get some use out of that costume.

Expect a DJ, games, costumes and plenty of Halloween fun throughout the day and night. Whether you're going all out with a costume that's been in the works for weeks or pulling something together at the last minute, everyone has a reason to join the party.

Reservations are welcome, so round up your friends, get those costumes ready and make a night of it. After all, Halloween on a Saturday doesn't happen every year.

A Century of Railroad History Comes to Life

All aboard for a little trip outside Monmouth County to go back in time! The Berkeley Township Historical Society Museum is celebrating its reopening with the 1st Annual Railroad Fest on Saturday, October 24 from 11 AM to 5 PM, and there's a pretty special birthday on the agenda.

The star of the show is Plymouth Locomotive #2173, which is celebrating its 100th birthday and making its return to operation. Visitors can see this century-old piece of local railroad history in action, along with several other narrow-gauge locomotives running throughout the day.

There will also be model train displays, antique engines and equipment, fire trucks, classic cars and plenty for train enthusiasts of all ages to explore. It's not every day you get to watch a 100-year-old locomotive come back to life, so this is a pretty good excuse to spend a Saturday brushing up on some local history.
