Boo at the Boardwalk is Back, Come Hungry to the NJ Seafood & Music Festival, Halloween Treats & Vineyard Views, Coffee, Pumpkins & a Little Fall Fun, Live Music Lowdown
Happy Tuesday, Monmouth County! I don’t know about everyone else but the sunsets have been pretty insane recently…I've caught myself stopping to take pictures almost every night. Still wish we had a couple more hours of light in the day but it makes the shorter days a little easier to accept.
On the docket:
Boo at the Boardwalk is Back
Come Hungry to the NJ Seafood & Music Festival
Halloween Treats & Vineyard Views
Coffee, Pumpkins & a Little Fall Fun at Coffee Corral
Live Music Lowdown
Boo at the Boardwalk is Back
Halloween is making its way to the Jersey Shore, and Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach is getting in on the fun. Boo at the Boardwalk returns October 17, 18, 24 and 25 from 12 to 4 PM, bringing two weekends of family-friendly Halloween festivities to the boardwalk.
Expect trick-or-treating, live shows, entertainment, hands-on activities and half-price rides. It's the perfect excuse to break out those Halloween costumes a little early and let the kids enjoy some spooky fun without anything too scary.
Between collecting candy, catching a show and squeezing in a few boardwalk rides, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Plus, a fall afternoon at the beach isn't a bad bonus.
Grab the costumes, bring the family and enjoy a little Halloween fun by the water. Just be prepared for the inevitable negotiations when it's time to leave.
Come Hungry to the NJ Seafood & Music Festival
Seafood lovers, this one's for you. The New Jersey Seafood & Music Festival is taking over the outdoor grounds at Bell Works in Holmdel on Saturday, October 17, bringing a full day of fresh seafood, live music and family fun.
Come hungry because the food lineup is pretty impressive. There will be lobster rolls, crab cakes, shrimp, fresh oysters and plenty more from vendors like Cousins Maine Lobster, Angry Archie's, Mystic Lobster and Shore Fresh Raw Bar. Don’t worry they will have plenty of non-seafood options, plus a beer, margarita and sangria garden for those looking to make an afternoon of it.
Live music kicks off with Only Human at 11 AM, followed by Soul Seduction at 3 PM. The kids can stay busy with inflatables, miniature golf, pony rides and a petting zoo, while the adults work their way through the food vendors.
Admission is $5, with kids under 5 free. Grab the family, bring your appetite and prepare to spend a good portion of Saturday deciding what to eat next.
Halloween Treats & Vineyard Views
Halloween weekend is getting a little festive at 4 JG’s Orchard & Vineyard in Colts Neck. The winery is hosting its Spooktacular Weekend on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 from 12 to 5 PM, giving everyone one last chance to enjoy a fall afternoon among the apple trees and vines.
Spend the afternoon strolling through the orchard and vineyard, taking part in a Halloween scavenger hunt and enjoying seasonal treats, food and drinks. There will also be fire pits to cozy up around, making it a pretty good excuse to linger a little longer.
Costumes are encouraged but not required, so feel free to go all out or just show up ready for a relaxing afternoon. Between the Halloween treats, vineyard views and something good to sip on, it's a nice way to wrap up spooky season without having to knock on anyone's door for candy.
Coffee, Pumpkins & a Little Fall Fun at Coffee Corral
Coffee and pumpkin painting sound like a pretty good way to spend a Saturday. Coffee Corral is hosting Pumpkin Painting on October 17 from 9 AM to 3 PM at both its Red Bank and Farmingdale locations, inviting fall enthusiasts of all ages to get a little creative.
Pick out a pumpkin, grab some paint and turn it into your own masterpiece, or at least something worthy of a spot on the front porch. Pumpkins are $10 each, and there's no registration required, so you can stop by whenever works for you.
Grab a coffee, bring the kids or a few friends, and enjoy a little fall crafting without having to clean up the paint at home.
