Happy Tuesday, Monmouth County! I tried a new Italian restaurant this weekend and (spoiler alert) I’m still thinking about that meal. Let’s just say I left so stuffed I half expected them to have to roll me out of the restaurant. Now it’s all about getting through the week without reaching for more snacks…or at least trying.

Cold weather calls for easy, no-stress activities, and the Monmouth County Library in Shrewsbury has plenty on the calendar. From Open Sensory Playtime on Monday mornings to Family Storytime during the week, there are simple ways to get out of the house and mix things up.

Older kids can jump into LEGO Club or Afternoon Adventures with hands-on crafts and experiments, while Family Yoga Storytime adds a little movement to your weekend. They’re all close by, easy to attend, and a great way to break up the winter weeks.

Tackle Your Tuesday with Mahjongg

If your Tuesday afternoons could use a little structure (and a little strategy), the Monmouth County Library in West Long Branch hosts Mahjongg every Tuesday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. It’s a relaxed, social way to get out of the house, keep your mind sharp, and spend a few hours doing something that isn’t scrolling.

Players of all levels are welcome, whether you’re a longtime Mahjongg fan or just looking to learn the ropes. Come for a game or stay for the whole afternoon, it’s casual, friendly, and easy to fit into the week. Sometimes the best winter plans are the simple ones.
