Happy Tuesday, Monmouth County. These cooler mornings and the return of school buses have been a bittersweet reminder that fall is slowly creeping up. Luckily summer’s not technically over until September 22, so I’ll squeezing in some last minute beach days until then…
Hope everyone is catching some sun before pumpkin spice officially takes over!

Chefs for a Cure: A Night of Flavor & Philanthropy
On September 10, JAR of Hope is bringing together 20 top chefs, craft cocktails, and live entertainment for Chefs for a Cure at The TillingHouse at Suneagles Golf Club in Eatontown. It’s a night of bold flavors and bigger purpose—raising money to fight Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
VIPs get in early at 5:30 PM for an intimate performance by Dominic Scaglione (Jersey Boys), while general admission opens at 6 PM. Along with tastings and drinks, the night will honor local heroes making a difference and feature a raffle for a custom whiskey barrel bar + more.
Tickets start at $175, with proceeds fueling research and support for families impacted by Duchenne.
Saddle Up: Colts Neck Polo Classic
If you’ve ever thought polo was just for royals and Ralph Lauren models, think again. Colts Neck is bringing it straight to our backyard. The CBNA Polo Classic is happening Sunday, September 7th at Bucks Mill Community Park, and it’s basically the ultimate excuse to dress cute, sip something bubbly, and cheer like you actually understand the rules.
Gates open at noon, the match kicks off at 2 PM, and the day’s got all the good stuff: tailgating, hat contests, and the tradition of divot stomping (yes, champagne in hand is highly encouraged).
So grab your crew, pack a picnic, and head to 137 Bucks Mill Road for a true Sunday Funday.
Honor the Brave: 2025 Fallen Heroes 5K
The 2025 Fallen Heroes 5K is coming up on Saturday, September 6th in Lake Como. The race starts at 9 AM so be ready to swap your weekend pajamas for running shoes and trade your usual chaos for a morning of community, courage, and a little cardio.
Tackle the 5K ($39), or opt for the 1-mile run ($23) if your legs need a gentler start. The little ones are welcome too! They can join the Kids’ Race ($13) and show off their sprinting skills. The first 700 registrants even snag a long-sleeve commemorative tee, and there’s a post-race barbecue to refuel.
Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines with a coffee in hand, it’s all about honoring our fallen heroes and supporting their families.

Crafts, Food, Beer: Brielle Day Is Back
If your idea of a perfect Saturday involves shopping, snacking, and maybe a beer garden pit stop — Brielle Day has you covered. On September 6th, Brielle Park transforms into a full-on festival from 9 AM to 4 PM, and it’s basically the unofficial kickoff to fall around here.
We’re talking 150+ crafters (bring a tote bag, you’ll need it), fire truck rides, live music, and enough food to justify skipping breakfast. The Kids Corner is stocked with face painting, slime (yes, slime), balloon animals, and an ice cream truck — so the little ones are busy while you check out the vendors.
Oh, and did I mention the beer garden? Because yes, there’s a beer garden.
Find it all at 658 Union Avenue, right next to the Brielle Library. It’s the kind of day where you’ll “just swing by for a little” and somehow end up staying for hours.
