Oktoberfest Hits Hominy Hill, Monmouth’s Megha Ganne Swings Into History, Kids Night with Bluey, Allenhurst Carnival Night, Live Music Lowdown

Good morning, Monmouth County. While we were busy tackling grocery lists and chauffeuring kids to practice, Holmdel’s own Megha Ganne was out winning the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Forget neighborhood bragging rights, she’s bringing home a trophy, a spot in next year’s U.S. Women’s Open, and a ticket to represent Team USA in Singapore. Meanwhile, the rest of us are just trying to make par on mini golf.

On the docket:

  • Brats, Beers & Backswings: Oktoberfest Hits Hominy Hill

  • Monmouth’s Megha Ganne Swings Into History

  • Kids Night with Bluey at Tre Pizza!

  • Allenhurst Carnival Night: Fun for the Whole Family

  • Live Music Lowdown

Brats, Beers & Backswings: Oktoberfest Hits Hominy Hill

Taste of the Tee is back at Hominy Hill, and next month it’s all about Oktoberfest. On Friday, September 19, from 4–8 PM, you can swap juice boxes for Carton Brewing’s finest pours and trade your usual weeknight chaos for golf and a serious German feast.

For $113, you’ll play 9 holes, sample tastings on the 1st and 6th holes, and then sit down to dinner with one more round in hand. The menu is stacked—sauerbraten, schnitzel, knockwurst, bratwurst, potato pancakes, German potato salad, apple strudel…the works.

Tee times run from 4–6 PM, and spots are limited so make sure to register early. Sign up solo, grab a couple friends, or call it date night. Lederhosen optional, beer and brats required.

Monmouth’s Megha Ganne Swings Into History

Big win alert! Megha Ganne just crushed it at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes in Oregon. The Holmdel High School alumna now gets a golden ticket into next year’s U.S. Women’s Open in Pacific Palisades, California, and a guaranteed spot on the 2025 USA Women’s World Amateur Team heading to Singapore this October.

From local fairways to international greens, Megha’s showing us all how to swing for the stars while making the rest of us rethink how we hold a golf club. I’m officially starting a “Megha Ganne Fan Club.” Who’s with me?

Kids Night with Bluey at Tre Pizza!

Bluey’s back! If your little ones can’t stop talking about Bluey, here’s their chance to hang out with the pup in person. On Tuesday, August 26, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, Tre Pizza, Pasta & Beer Garden in Aberdeen is hosting Kids Night with Bluey.

There will be games, dancing, and plenty of photo ops, basically all the chaos and fun your kids love. Perfect for a low-key weeknight where you get to sit back, watch them go wild, and maybe even grab a slice while you’re at it.

Grab the kiddos and come make some memories, they won’t stop talking about it for weeks!

Allenhurst Carnival Night: Fun for the Whole Family

Mark your calendars! This Thursday, August 21, from 5 PM to 8 PM, the Allenhurst Train Station transforms into a festive carnival wonderland. Bring the whole family for an evening of games, sweet treats, music, and plenty of community fun.
